Over more than three decades, ASD has been a family venture, as it’s owned and operated by Philip, Sr., and his son, Greg Lanctot. Together, the two have have built several successful companies, with great customer service and exceptional value being cornerstones of their business plans.
For nearly its entire existence, Philip Lanctot, has worked as a driving force behind the company and its constant innovation to best serve its customers. During the mid- to late-1980’s, Philip, Jr. worked in the NRI warehouse during school breaks. Over time, with an expanded knowledge of the family business and a highly refined ability to develop creative solutions to meet the the needs of his clients, Philip, Jr., joined the NRI staff full-time in 1988 as part of the customer service division. Soon after, he assumed all of the company’s marketing efforts. By 1999, he was named CEO of the company, leading initiatives that maintained NRI’s position as an indispensable resource for its clients.
In 1990, NRI extended its product offering to include desktop computing products. For the rest of that decade, NRI not only offered the hardware clients needed, but also the electronic communication, information storage, and early e-commerce opportunities customers needed, as the Internet became an essential business tool. By the late 1990’s, NRI expanded its IT offerings with the acquisition of three managed services providers based in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, as well as the launch of cost-saving managed print solutions. Clients such as QVC, New York Mercantile Exchange, and Johnson & Johnson relied on NRI for the holistic business solutions the company offered.
ASD: True Business Innovation
During the early 2000’s, NRI continued to expand its IT managed services offerings and fine-tune its suite of services as the business environment - and NRI clients - became more sophisticated, and required additional support. Through client listening and keeping abreast of business trends, Philip Lanctot, Jr. divested the print solutions and supplies portion of NRI in 2008 to First Technology Capital. In 2009, the technology product sales division was sold in 2009 to Fastech, LLC. The company name, NRI, was divested along with these business lines. At this time, the company’s efforts centered on creating a virtual warehouse and workforce (VWW) business ecosystem under a new company name, ASD.
With a focus on services and solutions, ASD has become vendor agnostic. This means that recommendations made to clients are in their best interest; solutions deployed by ASD best fit each clients’ unique business. ASD’s staff has worked with major corporate entities, including American Express, Ameriprise Financial, Fresenius Medical Care, EMC, and IFF It’s their outstanding experience and commitment to our customers that results in exceptional, customized solutions.
Today, ASD serves clients of all sizes - from start-ups to large corporations - providing technology management services, full-service warehousing, U.S.-based service desk operations, and IT field services across the country.
